Senior citizens in Sherston and Easton Grey have received an early Christmas present in the shape of a £15 voucher from local fund raising group Sherston 1016. Some 200 vouchers have been delivered to be spent locally in either Sherston Post Office Stores or Tucks Farm Shop.
After a very successful year of fundraising the group has increased the voucher value from the usual £10 to £15. ‘People have been very generous at all our events in 2010 ‘ said group spokesman Eric Thacker ‘ and this enabled us to make such a big increase this year’.
The vouchers are made available to any household in Sherston or Easton Grey parishes where a person who is 65 or over resides. Widowers who are under 65 are also covered. Anyone who may be eligible but has not yet had a voucher should contact Eric Thacker on 01666 841344. All vouchers must be cashed by 31st January.
