Malmesbury and the Villages Community Area Partnership are putting together a showcase of sports and activities in the area. Under the banner of PHEW! (Participation, Health, Exercise, and Well-being) the programme of events will run from July through to September and will include open days, taster sessions and demonstrations. The project is receiving funding from the Malmesbury Area Board as part of Wiltshire Council’s A Legacy for Wiltshire project which seeks to build upon the momentum from community participation during the 2012 Olympics.
Current participants include Malmesbury’s Activity Zone, Malmesbury Victoria Football Club and the aerial adventure centre Head for Heights. Activities in the programme include sailing, walking, running, bowls, boules, dance, football and longbow archery. Any sports clubs or groups that promote activity or exercise wishing to take part should get in touch with PHEW! as soon as possible.
